  • Informal Unmoderated Day Chat Time?

I very infrequently am able to stop by for the evening chats in the chat room. I do enjoy going in and sometimes do nothing more than learn from the others on there. The evenings are a time when I am not able to spend the time in there though. I would really like to see some time set up during the day that we could say that at this time on this day we are going to be in the chat room. Now I realize that not everyone who likes this way to talk to others may be interested in this and able every time, I won't be either probably, but if such a time was set up maybe more people would check it out during the day. I have dropped in many times during the day and no one is in there. I know there are a lot of people on during the day and just wondered if we could try this for awhile to see if people wanted this.

I don't expect the ICN to provide moderators for this time and wondered how others felt about this. I know for me, most weeks Tues and Wed. are good days but it will depend on the week. That is why if we keep it informal if we are all busy no big deal but at least we would have a time that we could check in a know we might find somebody on. How does everyone else feel about this and could somebody else maybe suggest how we get this set up?

Again thanks to everyone that makes this site "tick", this is so great. Jill, you and the staff are wonderful.

Hi Jolene...........Thank you for your positive comments. The ICN tried scheduled one hour (12-1:00PM) moderated chats on Wednesday but they were discontinued due to nonparticipation. These chats are a wonderful resource for learning something new or just for support. The last Tuesday of the month is for guest speakers......Thank you Jill. Hopefully, others will see this post and you will be able to chat with them at a mutually agreeable time during the day.

      Leslie,
I am not expecting them to be moderated but if there could just be a set day & time and then if people wanted to show up there might someone there. There is more of a chance if there is a set day and time. I know the ICN can not give the time and money to have someone monitor something that may not get used as often as the ones in the evening. I would do my best do be in there during that time but I know that I can't always be available either. I just think this is such a nice feature for the IC community. I can't tell you how much the support of this community of people has meant to my life.
