I was speaking with a nurse who has had IC for a number of years. If shes' planning a trip she goes in and has a cysto/hydro and this keeps her symptom and flare free. My cysto/hydro worked wonders for my IC symptoms. Has anyone else done this? Sue

I have had 35 hyrdros and they have always worked well for me. However, I have never scheduled one until I was in pain that wouldn't be relieved with my usual treatments.
What I do is to be sure I have pain medications to take with me on any trips. I also try to plan a vacation when it's only been a few months since my last hydro. On a trip to California last summer I ended up taking pain medications, but it wasn't too bad and as soon as I got home, I saw my uro to arrange for the hydro.
Sending an encouraging hug,
