  • IC newbie:What is your advices?I'm about to call a bladder expert!

I'm a male with pubic pain and irritable bowel.Since years of battling IBS didn't help much,i'm ready to see a BLADDER SPECIALIST.

I HIGHLY SUSPECT MY PUBIC PAIN/SENSITIZATION HAS STARTED WITH A BLADDER INSULT(waiting too long to urinate).NSAIDS screw up my sigmoid colon afterward.

As soon as the clinic open i'm gonna call the super-urologist for treatment.
I'm interested in rescue instillation since it directly target pubic pain. What is DMSO?What is the 100% safe "coktail?I don't want to be worst.

My mother used dmso many years ago, she use to call them janator in a drum. It had sometihng to do with one ingreadent used for a cleaning supliment, or something lol. She smelled very badly like garlic and could taste it too. I think that has changed by now. I do know there was a write up that it can cause more harn then good long term with the bladder, also it can cause you to lose eye sight if you are dibetic.

        Tip for IBS

I too suffer with IBS and IC, along with PFD and vulvodynia. One thing that I learned about IBS along with diet and Zelnorm is that Beano as a theraputic dose helps keep my bloating under much better control. I take a theraputic dose of two Beano tablets in the morning. Also, should I be going somewhere that I know I am going to eat something that may possibly cause bloating, I take Beano before a meal. Good luck!

          What is MSM Cream

What is the MSM cream? I am currently trying to get relief from pelvic floor dysfunction as well as vulvodynia. I have not heard about MSM cream. Please let me know what this is and how it works.

          Thanks

The urologist was in another province.Apparently i need an approbation from my own province. That's what the uro-nurse told me.I don't know if this is true.

Roxie, thanks for your understanding.Yeah people with IC and IBS suffer a lot from it.

I wonder if anybody has ever cured both of these condition(at the same time). My IBS is predominant but my bladder maybe the root of my problem since my pubic burning is permanent.I hope i will fix the burning to eventually calm my bowel at the same time.

Tip, so many IC'ers also have IBS - the two diseases seem to go almost hand-in-hand.

Some researchers say there is one central nerve area that regulates both the bowel and the bladder, and if that area gets diseased or gets inflammed, you can get both IC and IBS. So that is one theory about how it is that this disease happens together so frequently.

There is so very much research being done these days. Hundreds of millions of dollars is finally pouring into research for this - for many decades it was totally ignored, no one researched - so I really think it is only a matter of a little bit more time before they discover the secret behind both of these diseases and find cures or at least good remedies for both.

                  Blessings,
                  Lori

IClori,if you have an internet link about this "nerve" i'm all ears lol

My case is complicated and simple at the same time.

I have irritable bladder and irritable bowel.
BUT just under my pubic skin there is a "small spot" that creat pressure.I have puborectalis spasm from it.This little spot is burning and seems to disrupt my sigmoid colon.

What is ridiculous is that pelvic echography is "normal" as well as barium studies The most ridiculous thing is that's just under the skin and they don't find anything.
