  • scheduled for my 1st scope

Well hello to all I had my appt with this new URO today and this man to me is GOD!! lol First off he is so understanding and talks to me like a human. He also listened and asked more questions so I could explain the situation better. Like he was truly interested on why I was coming in and not just there to make a quick buck.

The thing that threw me for a loop was that he did a plevic exam.....well kinda. He inserted a speculum and then did the finger exam. And now I am having some dull throbbing pain going down my legs this time. BOY THAT HURT SO BAD. Kinda picture this he has....sorry for being graphic...2 fingers in side and moves to 1 side does this hurt then the middle then the other side. Now he pushes up and around in all three places and asks me which spot hurts worse. Kinda like going to see an eye doc. Is A worse then B....A.....B lol

Now he wants to see me again next week to do the scope Cycsto is what it is called correct. He said it had a camera on it and he was going to look at my bladder. I'm nervous about this but I feel confident in the DR so that is good on that end.

I am just not sure if I should have some go with me or not. I know he is going to use some gel to numb me at first but I just don't know...I'm a panty waist. lol I'm happy at the same time. Go figure considering I'm in pain right now. lol

thanks to all of you.....oh and he did not know about this web site....so I of course gave him all the info and told him about all of u and how the support is so wonderful and about all the great information that you can find and learn about on hear. Have a great weekend all oh my daughter is having her 3rd b-day this saturday can't wait.

Thanks a bunch a head of time

Sounds like you are finally at the right place! Pelvic exams are a nessacary evil since PFD goes hand in hand with IC. The scope will be fine! I had one in the office too. My uro numbed it up and all I felt was pressure, no pain what so ever. Getting a small cath was way worth than the scope with numbing. Tell us how it goes next time [email protected]

Having a scope done isn't too bad--just a "little" sting. Stay relaxed that always helps. The first time I went to the bathrm it stung a little too. I had my 1st scope/pelvic exam while I was on my period--sooo embarrassing. It was either do it and get some help or wait another 3 mos for the next appt. I was also able to drive myself home--I only live 10 min away. It's nice to have support if you have someone able to go with you. The best part is you have faith in your Dr.

I have had 3 cystos. All were part of unrdymnamics evaluation testing I have never needed anyone to help dirve and I have never had any problems after the testing. If there is someone who could go with you it might help you relax just knowing that you have someone there if you need them. I know there are some that do have enough discomfort that they were gald to have someone drive them home.
