  • cysto. delay

It took us 6 hours round trip to drive to the hospital yesterday. The roads were being repaired for miles due to frost heaves in the winter. Unfortunately they had equipment failure at the hospital and could not perform cystos. They did not bother to call us the day before because I was an emergency appointment and not on file with the hospital. Can you believe that? I am booked again for next week. How frustrating! I also have to undure the bumpy roads once more.

The plus side is that my hubby and I had a day away while the kids were at school. We are building a house in a month so we priced out things/supplies. My kids are young and get bored of Home Depot really fast! All you moms would understand that!
    Interstitial Cystitis: Elmiron and Hydroxyzine
    Depression/Anxiety: Remeron, Cipralex and Clonazepam

*tried instills for nearly a year, had a break then started again for about 4 months...discontinued due to no improvement and increased flares
    * 2 hydrodistentions :

    * currently on "Nabilone" for pain management

    Taken the following:
Gabapentin no relief but could tolerate it
Lyricano relief but could tolerate it
    Cymbalta severe depression/anxiety etc.
Topamax severe nausea and weight loss
Oxycodone: I could tolerate if I used it for flares only...not for extended use due to constipation

What helps IC: yoga/meditation are my current treatments along with chiropractic and pelvic physiotherapy and acupuncture

    Other conditions...
Vulvadynia (amytriptaline cream - no longer using to to irritation)
    Severe IBS
Chronic Sinus pain (nasal rinse as need)
    Migraines

    Allergies: Erythromycin, scents and detergents

Wow, I am sorry to hear about the bad luck. That just stinks. Try not and let it eat at you. I notice when things like this happen, if you let it aggravate you to no end, it will just make you feel worse, at least with me it does.
Congratulations on your house! I have a son, he is 15 though, But I so remember having to shop with him when he was very young, and yes, kids do not have the patience when it comes to shopping unfortunately , they get very bored and crabby fast.

Anyhow, good luck with your appointment next week.

      Hi Jen

My daughter is 6 and my son is 4. Most of my friends have kids in their teens. Sometimes I wish I had had them earlier. I am 38 and don't have the energy some days to keep up. They do keep me busy though with sports/art classes etc.

When we had snows and the electricity was out at home I would take the kids to Home Depot. We just walked around and rang the doorbells, opened the kitchen cabinets and played kitchen. Then I would take them to the bath section and they would climb in and out of the tubs and try out all of the faucets. They never actually "went" in the toilets, they just sat on it. Office Max is another fun place to go. We had a great time!
