Hi everyone, I finally saw my urologist today. He said my biopsy was fine and that I will still be in pain 3 to 4 more weeks. He also started me on a different med because Pyridium was not helping me. I have an appt in 3 weeks with him because if the meds do not work I will be getting back on catheter treatments and even though I hate them they did really help me before. He doesn't want me back on the elmiron yet and of course I have to be strict with the IC diet. I have had IC since diagnosed 5 years ago so I have been through many treatments and even had remission for a little while. I also wanted to tell you that he said what happened after my distention had never happened to his younger patients before. I made a different posting about after my distention I started bleeding non stop from my biopsy places. I ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery on my bladder which was painful but necessary. He told me has only had this happened to women in their 80's and I am the youngest at 30 to have it happen and especially for it to be so bad. I wanted to share this so that people won't be scared off from getting a distention because of my experience. I know that the distention does help many people and as long as you have a good urologist and there are good reasons to have it done I would go ahead and do it. My experience was scary but also highly unusual and I don't regret the distention because I had to have it at the time. I just wanted to share all that with you guys especially those that have posted about my experience and kind of know my situation. I do have a more positive outlook right now and yes, the treatments can get frustrating because often they hurt before things get worse but in the end it is worth it to have the life that you want to have and I am the type of person that no matter what my health problems throw at me I still try to keep going and make my life the best it can be! I hope that all of you find treatment that works for you and if you ever want to talk you can send me a message, I have been through a lot regarding my IC so I have a lot of experience. Take care and I hope everyone has a great day! Thank you also to the new friends I have made and also the people that have given me advice.
