    Had scope now flair

    I had a scope in the office last friday . I was not too bad, some light burning for a day or so. Saterday I had some powerful pain and fullness for a couple of hours, then it subsided. Sunday it niggled me, Monday got worse and wed I was in the most horrible flair EVER.
    Have not had this pain since 2005. Can the scope have caused this? I dont realy see how the scope could irritate my bladder.

    I can see how it would make the erithra raw...
    I was up all night with pain and peeing every hour but the burning and pressure was still there.

    Can this be from the scope?

          My first thought is that you may have an infection. Any time we have an instrument or catheter inserted into the urethra, it does increase the potential for infection. I suggest you call your doctor and ask about bringing in a urine sample for testing.

              I have my own 10 peramiter strips and there is no sign of infection on there...

              Should I still go.

                  No more scopes for me!!

                  Went to the doctor and he says my urine is crystal clear. They have a microscope. So he said my urethera and lower part of the bladder is all fired up from the scope he did.

                  He irritated it and then I ate foods that normally dont bother me any more, like a bit of coffee and some itialian food.

                  So I just hope this does not take weeks to calm down like it did back in 2005. I will never do another scope of any kind. I am a small person and it really tore me up.

                      I also have trouble with anything inserted into my urethra- scopes, catheters, whatever. It always causes a very bad flare. I'm glad I had my last cystocopy done because it FINALLY got me a diagnosis, but I was in a lot of pain afterward. I use AZO or Pyridium to take the edge off.

                      Hope it feels better soon!

                          I was in pain for 3 weeks after my cysto, I ended up getting an elmiron rescue instill.
                          IC diagnosis 3 weeks ago.
                          Vesicare 10 mg once daily
                          IBS and Gerd-Zegerid
                          IC diet
                          Elmiron 100 mg three daily
                          Hydroxyzine 25 mg at night
                          Amitriptyline 10mg at night
                          Diovan 60/12.5 daily
                          Topral 50 mg daily
                          Zoloft 100 mg at night
                          Klonopin .5 twice daily

                              He gave me Vesicare.

                              Why did he do that?

                              I dont want to take it.

                              I am doing marshmellow herb.
