  • test tomorrow

I'm here to vent is all. I go in tomorrow morning for the Urodynamic study and frankly...I'm a little scared. I have a feeling it's going to be painful. I'm nervous just thinking about it now. I just want tomorrow to come so I can get this over with. My hope is that there won't be any lasting pain and the doctors are sensitive.

That's it...(I was hoping this would make me feel a little less nervous...don't think it did!)

You'll be fine Crittle. Just try to relax (breathe deep and slow when you start to feel tense) and it will be over relatively soon. You may have some burning afterwards but it shouldn't last very long. Ask them to be gentle inserting the catheter to minimize any discomfort.

I insisted that I put my own catheter in which they let me do. I also insisted on sterile water, not saline. My hand was cramped from holding the catheter in place but the test was nothing. In fact mine felt good. Having that sterile water wash all the urine off the sore places felt very soothing in my case. I found out there is no spasm in my case and I found out that it's not painful to be distended with sterile water so it told me the source of my pain is urine on the cuts. So that told me which treatment course to take. Now if I would just respond to something. The test was very worth it to me and way less traumatic than a painful night. Good luck.
