Hi everyone!
Been away for the boards for a while, but back to report on this test I had today. They call it a "cystogram", and it wasn't too bad during the test.
This is done without anesthesia, but I took 2 Ultracets instead of my usual one, since I knew they'd be putting fluid in the bladder.
After I emptied my bladder, they inserted a catheter (I insisted on a 10 French, since that's what I use at home to instill Marcaine for my once or twice a day pain relief). Then, using gravity feed they filled my bladder with a dye solution.
They use a fluoroscope to look at the bladder and take pictures. It was really cool to see my 2 Interstims in the picture. Anyways, I really had to do relaxation and breathing exercises to be able to stand the excess filling, though it filled really slowly.
The test showed that there is no bladder reflux, as I understand it, urine backing up into the kidneys. And, that's a good thing...since the purpose of the test is to see if I can tolerate instillations...Clorpactin, Sodium Carbonate, etc.
Then, finally,
toilet Whew!! They finally got rid of the catheter and let me "go"!! The great thing was, the dye solution they used was cold coming out...oh, it felt to so good.
After that a few X-rays of the bladder...but I had to have extras done since my bladder didn't empty all the dye solution....they couldn't see what they needed to see. So, void again....do they call that "re-voiding"??? And a few more pictures.
That's it.. total time ....1 hour. Not too bad, until my Ultracets started wearing off. I just took one a few minutes ago, but my pelvic and bladder pain is so bad now, it's killing me to sit here.
Excuse me while a get another Ultracet...my couch...my heating pad...my cat laying on my IC belly....ZZZZZZ, I hope!!
Hope this info helps some of you, hi
