Terry, I'll keep you in my prayers and cross my fingers that you don't have IC. I worked with a woman who was diagnosed with MS while she was pregnant. When she returned to work she has a bit of an unsteadiness to her walking (If you didn't know about it, you might not notice it), but with therapy and medications she is still working. She works as a computer tech at the hospital where I worked and does a lot of walking in her job. There are many different levels of seriousness with MS --- if you have it I hope yours will be among the least serious.

Warm hugs,
Donna

My sister who has the MS is at this moment in a wheel chair, she is numb from the waist down. She says it feels like that part of her body is asleep. Its what they call surface numbness. She is being weaned off steroids right now and the doctor thinks she will get the feeling back. This has all thrown me in such a fog..Have been trying to learn all I could about IC and now this..Been a really long couple of days. I haven't had the same feelings like my sister except she too goes to pee alot but she has to watch herself go..you know look..so she can see when it quits coming out.

Flore, MS stands for multiple sclerosis and it is a disease that attacks the central nervous system. It can effect being able to control movement of different parts of your body. There are lots of treatments available now to help with this.

Hi Terri

At first, what is MS??

I had my urodinamic test last april, and is umcomfortable, but you will not have any pain

In my case I was in the study for 2 hours. At first you have to have your bladder full, and after have to pee in an electronic wc, the dr. has to measure your urine, and he knows aprox your bladder capacity. After he´s going to put a catheter (I don´t remember why), and he´s going to do a rectal, this is to see how is your sphinter and if you have DPF. He is going to put too like electrods beside and around your anus, this is for see if you have or not neurological problems in your bladder. At last he is going to ask you pee again in the electronic wc, and he can see if you have or not spams

The results I had was: Overactive bladder, and DPF because my sphinter is contracted

A week after the test, my dr. did a dilatation in my urethra

One month later, I had a cysto/hydro and biopsy under anesthesia, I was 2 nights at the hospital and my dr diagnosed IC

You will be fine!!

the test didn't bother me at all. Basically it's just to see how much urine your bladder can comfortably hold, what your stream is like, if you retain urine after you've gone or if you suffer from spasms.

For me the test was a very valuable one because it showed that my bladder is almost always in spasm, which explains alot of my pain.

Wishing you the VERT BEST

Have to have a Urodynamics next week..MS?

When I first started seeing my Uro, I forgot to tell him about one of my sister has MS. So as he was explaining more to and He had been telling me about the plan he had to help me feel better..When he heard about the MS, he told me to forget everything he said. And that he wanted me to have this other test. He said it could be what is causing my IC...Another test that I look forward to-- NOT..I don't know NOTHING about Urodynamics..so any info would help..please..I have seen what my sister is going through with MS and I hope and pray its not that.
