  • I had my Uro study done today!!!

Well let me say that I had the uro study done today I'm in so much pain right now. First off let me start by saying that my doc and RN are wonderful!!! They have such a great bed side manner.

I was on the table crying when they put the cath in. First they had to drain my bladder, then they took that one out and put in the other cath that is really small.....but it still hurt so bad. I was ready to come off the table. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE....THE REALLY SMALL CATH WAS DEFECTIVE. So they had to take that one out and do it again. OMG I was upset, but it wasn't the doc's fault it was the devise. So I told them to make sure that whatever they wanted to work right before they put it inside my bladder.

Before we even started the test he was showing me and the RN that I was having spasms already.

When the test was done he showed me that I was still having the spasms, and he said that I have a good case of it. So I asked him mild, mod, or sev. He said on the high end of Moderate. He said he will know more when he reveiws everything. I go back next Thursday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I just had to vent.....I'm really in sooooo much pain. To top it off my 9month old has an ear infection and my 3yr just had tubes put in this past tuesday and I really dont feel good now!!! I wish I could blink my eyes and all would be better!!! Take care

Ouch Stac, that doesn't sound like fun! I hope you start to feel better soon.
    Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

I am so sorry! Hopefully you will feel better soon. Pyridium or urelle will help with the burning! Mine was not pleasant either! It gives the uro lots of info though, it is a great test for the doctor to use to treat you better. If I didn't get this test, I would have never been able to get the interstim.

            Hi Stac.
I am sorry you went through all that. I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I was reading your list of meds you take, and was wondering what is mobic? Does this prevent you from getting UTI's?
I am very prone to getting UTI's , but cannot tolerate antibiotics very well because I have severe stomach issues. Is mobic and antibiotic, and what class is it in? Thanks.

              Jen-

I believe that's what it is for. To be honest I'm not real sure if it is an antiboditic. I know that it is one of the few things I can take when I do have a UTI cause I'm allergic to 6 things. I think so. I'm sure if you do a goggle you could get a bunch of info on it. Sorry I couldn't help
