I just heard about allergy meds helping ic. Do these meds really help with ic? If so can we eat some of the foods we're told not to eat. Just woundering. Also what kind of allergy meds are you taking.

Hydroxyzine (Atarax, Vistaril) is the main one prescribed for IC. Many patients find it helpful in reducing IC symptoms.

Some patients use dye-free Benadryl as well. I don't know if they're using that for allergies or IC relief.

I am not a medical authority nor do I offer medical advice. In all cases, I strongly encourage you to discuss your medical treatment with your personal medical care provider. Only they can, and should, give medical recommendations to you.
