I haven't had a brain one, but have had spinal MRI and shoulder MRI with no problem. If you're scheduled for an MRI, if you're claustrophobic, be sure to let them know so you can be medicated for the procedure.

The reason I ask is because I'm doing some research and trying to make connections (as we all do on here!). I'm having one tomorrow for something else and I was just curious if anyone had and was diagnosed with any neurological disorders afterwards. I've been researching auto-immune diseases which of course has been one theory to IC.Meggan

brain mri
I had a brain MRI, but not since my diagnosis. The MRI, as my husband likes to put it, showed nothing.
I did have an EEG to check for any abnormalities in brain waves. It came back normal,(little do they know)!
Sorry I can't be of more help. If you find out something interesting, let us know. BTW, if you're claustrophobic, close your eyes before you go into the MRI and you'll be fine.
Good luck,
Laurie

I had an MRI after my hydro, about 10 years ago. The hospital was very eager to quickley get rid of me after my hydro. The anesthesia had not worn off, and I passed out for a few seconds while they were trying to get me dressed to leave. That caused a panic. They did an EKG, and said I would have to stay the night in a padded bed, in case I had a seizure. The next morning, I had an MRI. All of the test results were normal! If they had just let me rest until the drugs wore off I would have been fine and not needed all those tests. the night in the padded bed was horrible because I was connected to and IV. The extra fluid created the need for very frequent urination. I was in searing pain after my hydro, and urinating every 15 minutes was torture. I have done natural childbirth with IC twice. Nothing compared with the pain I experienced from my hydro. I got no pain relief from it, and was in much worse pain for over a month. I was only given pain pills for 1 week. Then the hospital bill arrived. The unneeded tests, especially the MRI cost me a couple thousand dollars, even with insurance. All of this grief because the hospital wouldn't wait for the drugs to wear off before getting me up to leave.

I have had a brain MRI and have small white non specific lesions. No idea what they are from, i have a rare eye disease and an optic nerve defect and they have been trying to rule out MS for 4 years now, i think this year is my last MRI, if the lesions haven't changed the MS will be ruled out.
am not diagnosed with IC, just trying to figure out my bladder and pelvic pain following prolapse surgery
