  • Male with possible IC pls help!

Hello people, first off all i'm sorry if my English is bad. I've recently learned about IC on internet and suspect if this is IC or UTI i'm really worried and i would love to hear what you guys say. Anyways my symptoms started 2 weeks ago, they are urinary frequency, sometimes urgency and just a little pressure on my pelvic area, and i sometimes feel spasms on my penis or testicles. As soon as my symptoms started i went to my family doctor and they did a urine test with urine test strip, i showed my results to my doctor and when she looked at my results she said that i had UTI and gave me Antibiotics. I used Antibiotics for a week and my symptoms did not change, i was getting really impatient and sad because my life quality was ruined, so i went to a urologist this time and did another urine test but the test was done while i was on Antibiotics, the test seemed mostly negative, but the Leukocyte was 1 and Bacteria showed 1, anyways the doctor gave me another Antibiotic and told me to finish them, i mentioned Interstitial Cystitis to him but he did not seem to consider it to be possible.

My Antibiotics are gonna end in few days and my symptoms don't seem to change, this really ****** me off, Do you guys think that this is IC or UTI or is it something else? if this is IC does it start with mild symptoms? Is there going to be pain in the future? Is my frequency going to increase? Are there other males like me? These 2 weeks have been really difficult for me, i would really appreciate to hear your insights.

First of all, I'd like to say to the IC Network --- and your English is very good.

You have only had symptoms for a short time --- and you were found to have a urinary tract infection (UTI) and were prescribed antibiotics. What you have can easily be infection --- if that's true, you should begin feeling better soon. If you don't feel much better by the time you finish the antibiotics, I suggest you go back to see the urologist to be sure the infection is gone and to have more tests.

Try not to worry and be sure you drink enough water. Please post again and let me know how you are doing.

    Sending healing wishes,
    Donna
