  • I am miserable and I cannot take it anymore

    Hi everyone,

I am Beste and I am a 28 years old teacher. For the last 5 years my health in general is deteriorating. I have developed many health issues like tinnitus, migraines, IBS-C, GERD issues like acid reflux etc., GAD, frequent urination, joint pain, neuropathy(burning on the left side of my body). I have seen tons of doctors and all I got is the same sentence "it is all in your head"!

Two years ago I was at my local coffee shop and I went to loo. Right after I urinated and got back to my sit I felt the need to go again and I peed like I have never done in years. When I needed to go to bathroom it was never like couple of drops. I was urinating A LOT! That is funny because I sometimes go days without even drinking a glass of water. I never had burning that time but I remember I felt a bit of pain in my groin. That went away after I got one single acupuncture session and I only had minor flares before my menstruation.

3 weeks ago my need of frequent urination came back and a week later I started to have pain while urinating. I even saw blood and blood cloth on toilet paper. I went to gyno and she said I damaged my vaginal flora because of washing it up with antibacterial soap(I know, stupid) and she gave me antibiotics. It cleared up the fungus but my bladder symptoms are not any better. My urine tests are again good, no bacteria and no blood(strange!). I have a really bad left side back pain and if I pee a lot my urethra burns and I am bloated as my IBS-C is raging up! The frequency is killing me but if I drink water I have no burning. I cannot even have sex with my boyfriend because the pain is unbelievable! What is this? Will this ever go away again?

    Thank you,
    B.

If you aren't drinking water that might be a huge part of your bladder issues. One thing I suggest you try is increasing your fluid intake --- it's possible that this could increase your frequency for a while, but I think it could be worth trying. It's also possible that you have interstitial cystitis. Even if that turns out to be your problem, you still need to drink 6 to 8 cups of water daily. I find that small drinks frequently works best for me. You could also give the IC diet a try to see if that helps. I wonder if lack of fluids could have an effect on your IBS?

It's not unusual for an IC bladder to appear to be completely normal; have you seen a urologist? If you continue to have discomfort, I think that would be a good idea.

I just hope you find some answers and will feel better.

      Hi Donna,
Thank you so much for your answer. I will do the things you have suggested me. I have two questions. I am also b12 and VitD deficient, is there any correlation between deficiencies and IC? And I have noticed another weird thing which is that if I lay down my frequency and dull feeling in urethra goes away! Is it a usual thing for IC sufferers.

Some of us feel better when we relax; some find that when trying to relax, the frequency gets worse. I wish we could all be the same --- it would sure be easier to find solutions. Please keep me posted on how you are doing.
