  • Thanks for the replies...another question about IC

With IC, does it only hurt when urinating? See, I hurt at other times. Sometimes all the time. But mostly I start burning when I am starting to have to go. It may hurt the same of worse when I go, but then starts hurting worse after I go. It's strange. Does this even sound like IC? Also, as I said before in my very first post, I started with the burning, and thought I had infections about 10 times in 7 months and probably 6 or 7 came back positive with the dipstick but when they cultures like 3 of those times, nothing ever grew. It's weird and I feel like they think it's in my head or something. Thanks for all the help. This is the most supportive, helpful board I have seen and I am happy to have found it. You guys are great!

Hugs, hugs, hugs. YOU ARE NOT CRAZZY AND IT IS NOT ALL IN YOUR HEAD! Yes, most definatly do people with IC have pain other than when they pee. Many people say there are a lot of different kinds of IC pain.

Bladder pain, which feels like mentstraul cramps can be constant or affected by activity, car rides, sex, holding it, and your cycle.

Burning can be constant or just around when you go.

I believe there is one that is pressure that can be relieved if somewhat if you go as often as you need you (which isn't possible for anyone so grr)

I know there are others but those are ones I have the most experience with dealing with.

You are not alone and IC can cause multiple symptoms. Let us know any time we can help. I am thrilled you found us too! W grouphug

    Take Care,
    Faith, Hope, and Love,

Hi and welcome, believe me, we all know its not in your head. The pain is very real, although we may look O.K. outside, inside, we have all sorts of pains and aches going on. We do all know what you are going through. I have been diagnosed with IC just under two years, and I now, am experiencing different pains, and pressures in my general pelvic area, so I am learning all the time about IC. Would be happy to help you in any way I can, you will find so many good people here in the IC family to help you as much as they can. Take care and keep us posted, welcoming hug Iris. hi grouphug
