  • I don't have burning when I pee, could I still have IC

I've been researching this board non stop since my urlogist set me up for the test to see if I have IC (it's going to be done on Wed, Jan 7).

I have had two "episodes" that felt like a UTI but the urine dip indicated no infection.

I had frequency and pressure along with what felt like spasams at the end of my uretha, but I had no burning when I went to the bathroom.

I just am wondering if anyone else didn't have the burning sensation.

Also, do you think my episodes were a flare? I don't have pain or any other symptoms except when I was having the episodes.

I do at times feel a little pressure but nothing like I was having when I thought I might be having the UTI's.

    Thanks for you input.
Currently taking Elmiron 3 times a day, Ditropan XL 10 mg, 1 time a day, Elavil 10 mg, 1 time a day.

I also use a vaginal cream once a week and I follow an IC diet and use Prelief.

Hon everyone is different. It sounds like you may have had a flare. When I get a uti, I am miserable and depressed in pain and with groin pain too. NOw I am having flank pain and bladder pain with the uti. I am so sorry that you aren't feeling well. I will be praying for you . email me anytime.
Hang in there , There is hope.

That's pretty much how I am. I don't have constant symptoms and I don't have pain, and when I do have symptoms they are mainly frequency and urethral sensations sometimes I have burning and sometimes not but never when i pee. Good Luck with your test!!

The only time I have burning is if I have infection.

The pain of my IC when I'm in a flare is a constant feeling of needing to urinate --- and it can be such a strong feeling that it is something like extremely severe menstrual cramps. I feel like my body is trying to push my bladder out.

I also don't have any burning. I haven't had a UTI in a long time, but I do remember burning only then when the culture came back positive.

My flares are constant feeling of having to pee, and pressure. Similar to what Donna said. I've only been getting them with my period lately.

Let us know how your doctor visit goes and good luck. I hope it's not IC.

I have burning all the time. The pyridium helps with the burning, but it is never gone for me. When I have a flare, the burning is way more intense. When I first got this disease, I thought I could never live with that burning. I have had to learn to live with the burning.
