  • a bladder question too

forgot to ask this one before!!! I held about 1000cc in my bladder for a long time...basically till i was crying cause i had to have the flow test. But now my bladder hurts a little. Why? Is it stretched?Did i damage it? Will i feel better tomorrow. Doctor told me to never hold that much again!! Beleive me, it is not one of my goals in the future!!! Ykes!

    Hi.
I am not diagnosed with IC either. I totally have the symptoms with frequency, urgency, and ab pain, but I just read the book "The IC Survival Guide" and it said that if you have a full bladder that you probably don't have it. I often have a full bladder and I go about 10x a day. I don't know if that's normal, but it feels like a lot to me. In the book the IC paitent went a lot more and with no full bladder. Something is definately wrong, I'm just not sure what it is. Hopefully I'll learn more at my next urologist visit in Feb. It really helps to read your post and what your doctor is saying. Thanks!

Hi Sue..Im from Sheboygan...I went years being told it was all in my head. Even though i started having problems as a little kid. I was finally diagnosed 3 years ago...they literally thought i just had "mind problems" because someitmes it wasnt an infection.....We have a really good urologist in town..but i beleive stress can help cause flair ups..i got divorced and went off all meds....and i still do have flair ups but i take tons of midol!!! lol it helps with some of it...I am one of only 31 ppl who have this in the entire county of sheboygan. If ya ever want to chat, let me know. You are the closest person i have heard of it to talk to. I dont know the other 30 ppl in sheboygan who have it...take care

That's a lot of urine to hold at one time. You may be uncomfortable for a few days from it, but shouldn't have any long term effect from it.

        Warm hugs,

Hello fellow Wisconsiners...(Minocqua here) anyway when I wake up in the morning my bladder holds quite a bit more than during the day and it hurts after I void. I think it's from holding it for so long. Sleep meds knock me out so I'm not getting up 10 times a night anymore.

That's quite an impressive size for your bladder, I know that while awake mine only holds 150 cc's or so.

          Good luck!

          Hugs and love,

can't help with the question sorry. I can only hold 250 cc but I do believe stretching is very bad.

Hi, I can only hold 190cc of urine, I even had the flow and urodyamnics study test done and they didn't make me hold it. why on earth did they make you hold so much? I will be praying for you and let us know how you are doing.

actually they did not make me hold it that long. I decided to start drinking water while we were on the highway and we got stuck in alot of traffic...YUCK!!!! I should have waited till i got to the office. Soon as i "staggered" in the office they took me immediately. My bladder has calmed down since Wednesday but it still is a little sore.

I just had a thought. Can anyone figure out how many IC sufferers there are in each state, that are on this message board? I was thinking that there were a lot of Wisconsinites. Maybe to much Beer and Cheese? wink lmao
