Thanks for the replies I did have this before I got pregnant. I am not sure if I had it before my 1st pregnancy 4 years ago. I know it got really bad after he was born. I did not think too much about it as I figured it was from the pot or 2 of coffee I had everyday to stay awake. I talked to my doc and she said that I may be sensitive to coffee and to stop drinking it I did for about 3-4 weeks and my symptoms got much better. I slowly introduced it back into my diet and things were not as bad. I bought one of those Senseo 1 cup machines so that I would only drink 1 small cup per day. I just LOVE it so much. I was considering getting some of that low acid coffee.

So, I am watching all artificial stuff in food, tomatoes, and coffee. Not sure what to do about my prenatals as I think they cause me to wake-up in the middle of the night with horrible spasms. I did not take one last night and made it the whole night and most of the day today feelings good. How does one give up soda? I have 1 -2 per day. I usually have one caffene free Coke a day and a tiny sprite with dinner each night. What else besides water is there to drink? I sip water all day I want something different with my meal. I guess I should stop whining and stop the soda .

I am so glad I found this site as I don't think any of you will think I am crazy talking about this. No one else I know understands and they think it's all in my head.

    :woohoo: A baby...Congratulations.

Yes to what Tracey told you. Dig into the IC Diet info available in the Patient Handbook and get on it and stay on it for a few weeks. Let you bladder rest and not fight against the bad stuff.

    Oh...and to the ICN.

I'm with them. Try to stick to the IC diet for a while, it's hard, but if you find your triggers then it will be worth it. I used to think that a soda a day wasn't bothering me, but once I stopped it, I noticed I felt so much better. Just try to relax as much as you can, I've found that can be the best medicine.

Good question leelee, I was going to ask the same thing! What I would do is get strict with the IC Diet, for awhile, a few weeks and then add some things back in and see how you do. Sometimes, you can have a borderline food/beverage - by that I mean, your bladder JUST tolerates it, but then throw in another borderline food and you have problems. And then it can compound on itself the more it gets aggrivated. So, try to stay strict on it for a few weeks, to help let your bladder calm down a bit. Regardless of having IC, there are some foods that aggrivate healthy bladders, etc, just because they are aggrivating foods, lol!

And a BIG congrats on the pregnancy! YAY!!!!!!

    New here

Hi I am new here. I have been having bladder problems for a few years now. My symptoms are: needing to go all the time, when done going I still feel like I have to go, I also only dribble out a little bit when I do go, I get some dripping after I go, so I wear panty liners, a painful feeling of needing to pee in my bladder area, and sometimes I get these spasms that hurt really badly. I do not have burning when I do go, I just don't really get relief.

What I have been doing is watching what I eat. Seems to work sometimes but others times I cheat and nothing happens. Then it will get really bad and i have no idea why. Does that make sense? I have yet to find much of a rhyme or reason to the attacks, as I call them. Coffee will sometimes do it, sometimes not, same with wine.

I cannot get tested as I am pregnant and by OB said a urologist will not conduct any testing until I have the baby.

Does this sound like IC or just a sensitive bladder? All of my cultures come back normal but with an elevated white blood cell count.

Weird symptoms that I have that could be related and are not explained; I get from time to time horrible joint pain. Comes and goes and is usually in my pelvis, knees and feet. I was tested for Lupus and RA and they came back within normal ranges. Mood swings, horrible horrible allergies, and bad anxiety that I am taking Zoloft for. I also have weird sleep patterns that are ok sometimes and really wacky others.

Anyway, I hope some of you can help me. I feel miserable most of the time and my relationship with my husband is suffering.

eta- I also have asthma and IBS-constipation.
