  • Is this IC? UGH

I have a pressure just above my pubic bone...feels like my bladder...sometimes I have it sometimes I dont. Sometimes it feels like I have to pee... sometimes I dont feel like I have to pee. No burning or pain when I urinate. Slight cramping in the pubic region last week though. Had x rays, and an ultrasound, urine and blood tests and nothing was found. About 2 years ago I had a UTI that was bad...peeing straight blood and then ok for a long time after antibiotics.

Is this the start of IC? Doctors say I am healthy otherwise. I have a physically demanding job...a gymnastics coach....any ideas?

HI......Kinda sounds like IC to me. Have you tried the IC diet? It really does help to stick to it. Have you gone to a Urologist? If not, that would probably be a good idea for the next step. Maybe get on Elmiron and Elavil now before it gets worse. Have you tried the OTC Azo Standard? That helps with bladder pain.
I have a demanding job too....I work in special education at a Jr. High......lots of stress.....which doesn't help IC at all!
There's LOTS of great info on this site and great people to chat with about symptoms, diagnosis, drs......etc... Good luck to you! Roxie

For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

Everyone has different symptoms of Ic. It maybe Ic so I suggest seeing a specialist in IC. They will be able to detect it easily by doing certain tests. SOme dr's dxd you on just your symptoms, others do tests. there are alot of options for medicines and its a matter of time before you can figure out which combination of meds works for you. Let us know how it goes. Good luck

It sounds like IC is a possibility. I think seeing a urologist would be a good idea.
