A couple of years ago, I was having incontenance problems. It seemed like everytime I went to the bathroom, my underwear was a little wet. This lasted quite a while. Then I had an irregular pap and was sent to a gyn. She dx a rather large fibroid and recommended a hysterectomy. I asked if the fibroid could be causing bladder issues and she said yes. So, in hopes of solving my bladder problems, I had the surgery in September. (Plus, at 44yo, I know that fibroids just get worse) By this time, the incontence had stopped, but I was having urgency pain alot... and sometimes the feeling of an UTI that would go away on it's own by the next day... strange.
Now, still having urgency issues, and now pain after urinating, I went to a new PCP. He did a urinalysis, and found blood in my urine. So, he put me on an antiboitic (cypro) for a week, retested and found blood in my urine again. Surprised? Anyway, he mentioned I could have IC and sent me to a Uro.
So, yesterday, I went to the Uro for the first time... I thought it was important that he know my whole history, so I told him about the incontenance and that it went away after the hysterectomy. And that I am having mostly urgency pain, and pain after urination, but the symptoms come and go. He did a urinalysis and found blood in my urine again

So, he sent the urine out to be tested further by a lab... ok... Then he did a pelvic exam and told me that my bladder was "well supported". Then he told me that I would need further testing. He told me that he would need to look at my bladder through a scope (I was expecting that after reading this web-site). And he said he wanted to put me on anti-biotics.. I told him I had already done that... He actually listened and didn't put me on the meds YAY :woohoo: One point in his favor... He did put me on enablex and said it could help me... we'll see.
Now the weird part... I go and check-out and the nurse says they want me back for 2 procedures. One of them is the cysto... and the other is a "Pressure Flow Study", I said what's that? She said here's the instructions, and sent me on my way. Well, I looked it up on the web, and it's mostly given to Men with Flow problems to dx Prostate problems!! WHAT??? For women, it can dx incontenance problems... Did he hear me??? The incontenance went away! This is a very invasive test, have any of you had this done? Did it conclude anything for you? Does it sound like I could have IC? Maybe he's looking for something else, he really didn't say anything to me about this.... So... Please Help!
Thanks for Listening!
