    A Great Start to the Day!

    Last night was bad. I wasn't feeling too bad and the baby went to sleep earliy so well Except afterwords almost immediatly my entire pelvis area was rocked with pain for about 30 minutes, almost like menstual pain but lots worse and all around, lower back and all. So time for bed and of course I was uncomfortable because again I couldn't relieve my bladder.

    Well this morning, I got up to do my morning pee and it actually emptied!:woohoo: It hasn't completely emptied so quickly and easily in months!! Of course now it feels like my bladder is having spasms or something, like it doesn't know what to do when empty, but its just a dull ache and completely bareable compared to this past week and months.

    I was so happy I woke up hubby to tell him and he was like are you ?? You woke me up to tell me you successfully went to the bathroom? Then he fully woke up and realized the importance! YAY!! I'm happy.

    So I have 4 days left on the antibiotics. Maybe this slow start will have a fantastic finish and I will end up not having IC or anything serious at all??

    wow thats great... There is nothing worse then bladder pain. I am glad your's is relieved. I hope you don't have IC too.

      HI! I hope you don't have IC.....it's SO difficult to deal with and all the pain that comes with it! I have my figures crossed that all you had was a bad UTI! Hugs! Roxie

      For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
      I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

        Well I posted too soon. I've been feeling worse and worse as the day goes by. I emailed my doctor and just have to wait now for him to give me adivce. Currently I'm sitting here in complete pain. It feels like menstrual cramps but ALOT worse, plus my bladder area feels spastic.

        Question: I am on Urelle Levaquin 500mg (antibiotic). Can I take any kind of OTC pain med with these? I have been reluctant to take anything for fear it would react with my current meds. (I also asked the doctor about this, but I have no idea when he'll email me back)

          I don't see why you couldn't take an otc pain med with urelle and an antibiotic. I'm not a dr though. I have been taking Urelle and I sometimes take Motrin but I have to take Prelief with it or it kills my bladder more than it helps. I have also taken tylenol with no problems either. I'm currently on an antibiotic for some kind of upper respitory infection and I haven't had any problems. Maybe call your pharmacy and ask if you can't get a hold of your dr or I have used rxlist.com before to look up facts about the rx's I'm on because I always seem to lose the patient info that comes with my rx's

          I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
          1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
          2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
          I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

          I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

            You might want to try an adhesive heating pad and stick it to your panties at night, or throughout the day, and see if that helps. I have found that when my bladder starts hurting and it feels like it is spasming, I do this overnight, and the next day I have a strong urine stream and feel better. Hope it helps!
