Have you read the IC Diet guidelines? Tomatoes is one of the worst things you can eat if you have IC. There are so many things with tomatoes, this has been my hardest thing to give up.

I also do not understand how anyone with IC could stand to drink cranberry juice! Its like rubbing an open wound with salt, at least for me! I do know that blueberry juice is 'safe', as long as there is no citric acid or other fruit juices in it.

The diet guidelines are really good, check them out!

    IC diet

I've been following the IC diet now for 3 weeks. It was SO hard to give up Diet Coke(I miss that even more then Chocolate)! I guess I'll get used to it? I felt really good for about 3 days after starting the diet, then my frequency issues came back. Plus, I still get pain after I pee(lasts about 5 minutes). The only thing I'm allowing myself acidic is the cranberry juice. My Uro, who told me to do it in the first place, said that if cranberry juice doesn't work well, try eating 1/2 cup of blueberries at 3 times a day, that is what I'm trying now. I'm going to see how not using the cranberry juice goes.

You may not have seen any difference in symptoms because of the fact that your bladder is so irratated to begin with. I would try to follow the IC diet and cut out all acidic foods and drinks. If you feel better after cutting out all of the acidic foods then you may in fact have IC.

Almost all IC patients find that cranberry juice is a bladder irritant. I will not take even a tiny sip.

    cranberry juice, confused

I wanted to let everyone know how my cranberry juice experience went, because it's confusing me. It really didn't effect me either way. I drank 8 oz. of the juice 3 times a day for 3 days, and it didn't really effect me. I felt the same as I do right now. I still have all of my symptoms(painful after I pee, feeling like peeing all the time) with or without the juice. Any ideas?
