  • Painfull urination, blood in urine

    Hello everyone -

I had a bad bladder infection several weeks ago and ever since then suffering from having pains inside my bladder, it hurts when I pee and I'm bloated. My GP did a urinanalysis which always shows blood, urine cultures came out negative.

I also had a kidney stone shortly after the bladder infection which came out, it was caused by uric acid. I'd understand some discomfort after that but I've been suffering now for several weeks and the pain is so bad I had to take rxd. Vicodin.

My kidney & pelvic ultrasound didn't find any structural abnormalities so I'm beggining to suspect that I have IC. My doctor said to just wait for two weeks and if it doesn't get better come back to see him. I'm 34, female, and also have IBS-C, depression, and ADD-PI.

Thanks to this website I've learned about marshmallow tea and that seems to help quite a bit.

Any ideas? How could this happen all of a sudden?

I hope and pray you do not have IC but, in the meantime stay on the IC diet until your uro confirms whether you have IC or not. It is better to be safe than sorry.

      IC Diet

I've been trying to follow the IC diet although the instructions are kind of vague but this morning my husband fixed pancakes and I couldn't help but pour a cup of no-sugar maple syrup and slaughter them in butter. Now my bladder is killing me!

I agree to follow the diet. If your no sugar syrup had artificial sweetners in it that is a definate trigger for a lot of people. I would follow up with your Dr. soon and ask to see a urologist if you can. Hugs!
