l am new here and been reading lots of things about IC and im scared firstly l have frequency urgency and pain and sometimes voiding not very often though l have had a cystoscopy and biopsy and was told from my GP that on hospital notes it said l had chronic inflammation in bladder, when l finally got appointment to see uro l got a young registrar instead l asked him about IC and l had been reading up on it and had all these symptoms , well he said no u don't have it and said it was OAB but medication he was prescribing me was for both IC and OAB still confused as l already suffer from stress incontinence so wasn't too sure about the OAB anyway l have since cut out Coffee Tea and Soft drinks as l did drink a lot of juice, i am trying everything at minute to see if it helps as l have a nagging pain in bottom of stamach nearly all the time any advice

So sorry Aggie. Inflammation of the bladder? Would think that is usually not a symptom of OAB, but I could be totally wrong. Look at the IC diet and try it for at least a month and see if it helps. Juice is not a good thing (except for pear). Glad you eliminated the coffee and soda, that is a big step.

Why is he so resistant to IC? You need a second opinion. Assume he has ruled out any infections. Hope you do not have IC, but you need to get to the bottom of this, and a consult with a doctor of YOUR choice would certainly be in order. Could be that he is not very familiar with it, or thinks you are seeking meds. Uros generally will not prescribe long term pain meds. Please seek another opinion, with your records and the pictures of your bladder. Do your research, and ask the front desk if the doc is familiar with IC before making an appt., you will save a lot of your time. Wish you luck, and hope you find an answer real soon. It sounds like you have a capable physician. Will you be able to see your doctor soon? He should be able to answer your questions.

I do think it would be a good idea to give the IC diet a try. It can't hurt and if you do have IC, it could help a lot. You'll find the latest food list at the link in my signature below.

I hope you feel better soon.

      Warm hugs,
