I am a 39 year old female that was diagnosed with OAB in 2003. I was prescribed medication that never worked. In 2007 took part in a clinical trial for a new drug for OAB, it did not work for me at all. After the trial the Doctor put me on Detrol LA, 4mg. This did nothing so the dosage was increased, and increased again. Finally the Dorctor just agreed that the meds were not working. He ordered more test, I had a cystoscope and pressure test done. When I went back to his office he suggested a urethra sling made of mesh.
Seven weeks ago I had the surgery done. Immediately following the surgery I had problems, my bladder was spamming so bad that I could actually pee with the catheter in. I lost all control over my bladder, I went to the bathroom at least 30 to 40 times a day. It is always an emergency, i can not wait and almost always end up leaking some if not all. I returned to the Doctor who did some tests and decided the sling was too tight causing my bladder to not completely empty. On Thursday I went to the hospital for a reversal of the sling. Now I have zero control over my bladder!! I get up 6 or 7 times a night to go to the bathroom, I cant hold it from my bed to the toilet! My life has become a nightmare, I cant go to the store, I cant pump gas, I cant do anything, I exhausted all of the time because Im up so much in the night.
I tried to go back to work this morning, wearing a pad of course, but on my way across the parking lot my bladder let go and overflowed the pad! Embarrassed and humiliated I turned around and headed for home!
I know this site is for IC patients but I really need help and I cant find what Im looking for!!
Thank you for taking the time to read this!!
