  • What should I do?

Alright people. I want my life back. I dont know if I have IC but I can pretty much guess. I have had this for 6 months. Is it possible to have just a sensitive bladder!???? Some days I can feel normal for a week or more! I dont realy have any food that I cant eat, (although I stay away from acidic things coffee etc) My bladder HATES birth control, so I am thinking about getting a non hormonal IUD.

I have never been diagnosed, but I am starting to think maby I should. I am already on Elmiron... Gah I have been tested for everything too and nothing.... I am so frustrated, and I want to learn how to live with this, if this is what I have...Im scared of losing my Bf, im scared of having this forever without being able to control it! Its sucking everything out of me!
    28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

Hey thank you! Yes your right, I do need to stick to the diet, and I really have for the most part. I look at a tomato now and run the opposite direction. haha I have for the most part been sticking to the diet and eating very bland foods, which some I love and lots of the time I feel like I am eating normally anyways... although I look at choclate and run to... lol I totally intend on giving the diet my all, and it has made a difference from where I was at initially, at least I get some reliefe now! Id really like to go in to remission like you!!!! I hope every day. I discovered that the less I put in my body the better, and as of right now the ONLY thing I am taking is the Elmiron, thats IT. I wanted to see how I felt without taking any suppliments.. seems like I am responding pretty well. Now if only I could take some form of birth control without reacting! I think if it wasnt for the pill making me flare I would be in remission right now! I just had a mini remission for 5 days! so freaking frusterating.

and when I say sticking to the diet, ussually I am eating chicken, beef, VEGGIES eggs, almond milk, blueberries, some apples, pears, potatoes , bread etc. NO coffee, tea tomatoes, cranberry (HORRBLE flare) pop, or any thing spicy. I never ate any of these foods anyways so this is not hard for me to cut them out.
