    Hello IC friends!

I am currently being given the run-around about exactly what I have. First off, I've suffered from "UTI" infections for over 10 years (I'm 27 now). After finally getting a hold of all my records my new doctor said, hum, it looks like only 4 out of 10 infections grew bacteria during the culture indicating something interesting is occurring here. I was tested for all STD's, had a cystoscopy, had an ultrasound of my kidneys/bladder and all results returned negative. I have had one case where I had gross hematuria and went to the ER. I have taken Cipro and Bactrim for these "mystery" infections and each time I was better within three days. My main questions is, does this sound like IC? Even a urologist I went to 4 years ago said he seemed stumped.... my symptoms are the same as a "UTI" but I do have significant above-public bone bloating/pain during these episodes. Is it possible to only have "episodes" of IC once every 6 months or a year? I should note that most/all of my UTI in-office dipsticks/cultures showed WBC and RBC's.

    Thanks!!!

It does sound like IC is a "possibility" --- but you need to work with a physician to find a diagnosis. One thing you might try is the IC diet --- you'll find the latest food list at the link in my signature below.

I hope you get some answers soon.
