I would eliminate the one cup of coffee for a while to see if it helps. I didn't start to feel better until I eliminated all coffee and tea. Even if it's not PBS it sounds like the bladder is irritated and coffee and tea can make any bladder irritation worse. I would also give the whole diet a try for a while. Couldn't hurt, and just might make you feel a whole lot better.

For me it took at least a month to see a big difference, but some people see a difference right a way in how they feel. You may not even have IC/PBS, but eliminating the major irritants may really help even if it's just an irritation. My initial flare in the very beginning lasted four months. Not saying that to scare you but yeah- a flare can last a good while until it's under control. I was in a great deal of pain and thought it would never end but am now in remission with only slight frequency at night. There's a lot of hope for healing even if it's initially very painful.

Have you tried the pyridium that is the otc Azo? A lot of people find this helpful for the burning. It never helped me much but there are a lot of people who get relief with it.
