  • pain AFTER urination

    Hello,
Does anybody out there have more pain AFTER urinating? Mine is very mild until I go to the bathroom. Then it's awful. Also, when I'm in the "relax" stage of a kegel.

    Thanks.

I am always more uncomfortable after I urinate than before. I don't think that's unusual for someone with IC.

I am most in pain after I urinate. I thought that was unusual for IC because I thought you were supposed to get relief after you emptied your bladder. It starts to build about 2-3 minutes afterwards and it very intense pain then about 30 minutes later it subsides some. Drinking more water helps me. Also it is worse mid morning and at night I do not have any problems and sleep about 6 hours as a rule.

Also I just don't understand why there is not a cure yet for this. If it were inflammation of the stomach lining or the colon lining(dyafaticulitis-can't spell it) we would be treated right away and we would be on our merry way. I think this is what frustrates me the most. This lack of caring by our medical community to let us suffer like this. It is just not right.

Annieic, there are lots of caring physicians working in research to try to find a cause and cure for IC. Unfortunately, it's a real puzzle --- I do feel encouraged by some of the new research, however, and hope that 2004 will be the year when the cause and cure are found.

          Warm hugs,
          Donna

I experience pain and discomfort after I void, too. Always attributed it to IC.

Quite often I will experience pain after voiding. Sometimes I wonder if it is related to my vulvodynia. hi Kristen
