I'm having a flare that started on Monday and I have this overwhelming feeling of fatigue. I'm rather new to this and have had 2 flares since my diagnosis last April. I never had this tiredness in my previous flares. I'm not taking anything for pain so I know it's not that. Any help would be aprreciated. Sue

Sometimes just pain itself will tire us out. How about sleeping, any difficulties? Hugs Kathi hi

I didn't sleep well for 3 or 4 nights between the pain and frequency but last night I did pretty well. Still really tired but you maybe right. Thanks for the input. Sue

I am tired all the time too. OF course, some of it is from lack of sleep, (going to the bathroom all night long.) I read somewhere that fatigue is part of IC. I think just living with a chronic disease is exhausting. It is such a huge part of your life. Good luck, and I hope we all sleep well tonight!

Thanks for all the replies they were a great help. I did get more sleep the last couple of nights and today I could function. It feet like I had on concrete boots and absolutely no energy much less motivation. I dont know how you gals that have to work do it. This flare my symptoms are so different from before. I thought I'd always have the same problems but a few surprises this time. Sue

I would agree with what some others have said on this posting: IC is a fatigueing disease. I sleep 16-18 hours a day if a chance came up.....I'm very tired all the time, and can sleep when I'm standing up!!!! Or driving...even scarier. My best time of day, in terms of alertness, is first thing in the morning. for some reason, that works well for me so I try to schedule everthing for then. After noon, I gotta have a driver or I'm snoozin at the wheel. Then at night, My husband says I'm restless and kick and moan, and cry...up and down.....I got an IPOD at christmas so i put the thing on with some calming music and let it just go and I go nighty night.

                  Good Luck!!!!

I'm usually always tired also but just like carly I go to the bathroom all night long grouphug
also if you get to much sleep you will be sleepy all day, every one is different if you get more then 10 hours of sleep try cutting down and see if that helps I seem to be more awake through the day if I get about 9 or 10 hours of sleep but anymore and I'm so tired

How would it be to sleep one full night without going to the bathroom toilet
GOD, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I know...Do you even comprehend what people are talking about when they complain about be awoken to pee at some point in the night. I mean, like t hey complain that evey morning at 2 am they have to go. Then they act all tired cause they had trouble going back to sleep. Those are usually the folks I find really think you just have no real problem and don't get it. (The topic comes up when folks ask how I am, I'll discuss some of the stuff I'm going through, they want to know what the disease is and then I get hear about often such and pees or who has constant infections in whose family>>>>I dunt care....(I meant to spell it that way ) Have a pee test or an exam, but you don't know pain folks. Then of course....I like to shock some of the real , how do I put it? Anti drug (especially sensationalized stuff...like lately the news and it's slamming oxycontin, morphine) folks by telling them I'm on morphine. Funny, they start really watching me..waiting for one of those drug type "fits" they've read about!!!!They can't, figure out how a bladder problem could create such pain, and I know it is difficult. I'm somewhat teasing, somewhat frustrated at the lack of knowledge of this. Is it because it is boring? Not enough cute kids or visible signs of disease? Urine and cramping bladders I guess are not a comfortable subject on "News channel 8 in the Morning" ,Not very yummy over your raisen bran and coffee. AAAAAHHHH coffee...do I miss that....

Sorry I've rambled...My pain is high tonignt and while I await the nerve block I have no extra drugs to help, I'm in pain so I've gone a little extra tonight, in terms of the "herbal" route. Don't do unless you are very comfortable and know your meds and rxn to them well. But I've had to have extra help this week and am not getting it, Keep playing phone tag waiting for one doc totalk to another. UGH>

                      Goodnight baby sleepy

I accidently sent two of those rambles and deleted one but all the stuff stayed up and couldn't waste the space and make every one wonder if I lost my rocker. Things that make you go HMMMMM...that command worked earlier when I accidently double sent but this time it didn't. I must not have done the correct chant this time., or proper sacrific. Whatever.

I get so tired too... yesterday, after flaring all day, I had a seminar to go to at work from 4-5 pm, and my frequency/urgency settled down enough so that for the first time I could sit comfortably for longer than 15 minutes... of course, after running to the bathroom all day and being in pain, I was exhausted and proceeded to fall asleep sitting in my chair in the seminar! LOL lmao

My colleagues, who were sitting next to me, just let me sleep, bless their hearts... they could sense how miserable I had been all day and didn't want to disturb.

Today I am still flaring and finally gave in to it... I decided to just stay home and rest all day with my heating pad. My husband also insisted that I stay home... he knows I am overtired from a recent business trip, etc, and he knows that my bladder gets VERY grouchy when I'm overtired...

Hi there, I thought I had already replied to this post, but now I can't find it

Anyways, I hope you're feeling better soon. I think a combination of frequency and nocturia, which can result in exhaustion, along with chronic pain and discomfort that can result in fatigue.

But I also discovered that by following such a strict IC diet, I was deficient in many vitamins and nutrients, especially B12 and iron, so now I take iron supplements, and get a B12 shot about once a month...it's made a big difference!

                            Take care,

Had to laugh...re read my post and everyone elses....we were tired (at least Iknow I WAS) I've only been writing in rambles since I started on morphine. I was ssoo tired I fell asleep today at the CHIROPRACOTOR. 'Course, he was doing very gentle manipulations above the bladder and pubic bone and soft tissue. Said I must walk with my butt held really tight because my pelvis/sacrum is very tight. This puzzled me as I don't think of my hips moving like my arms, neck, or even spine...but he said there is alot of subtle movement and I'm completely locked up. Reminded me to breathe deeply throughout the day, do various yoga stretches, and just listen to my body...if I need to lay down and sleep, do it!

Hope you all sleep well tonight.
