  • question for the board

    Im still having the problem since august, mainly the problem feels like my bladder is never empty, the normal feeling of emptyness.{ im a 29 year old guy}

    I have had cycles of when i pee in small amounts and sometimes a week or two later my urine flows better.Well since last saturday i have had the feeling like im peeing in small amount again, and i went up to the er on thursday as i was worried i was retaining urine.Well i got my bladder scanned and it came back with 22cc of urine which is normal they said.Its like my bladder is empty but it doesnt feel like it,, the first bladder scan i had showed zero urine and it really felt like there was urine in there.The doctor checked my prostate and he said it felt fine, i asked him if it could be ic and he said well that would be very rare for a 29 year old guy to have.He said it could be neurogenic bladder and i should ask my uorologist about a urodynamics test.

    Well what i dont understand is, when i started feeling like i couldnt pee right on that saturday {small amounts} and got it checked on the thursday and they saw little urine.Does this mean im able to empty my bladder since saturday?

      It does sound like you are doing a good job of emptying your bladder. Are you drinking an adequate amount of water? I also think it may be time for you to insist you be checked to rule out IC. If your current urologist is unwilling to do so, I do suggest a second opinion. Yes, it would be unusual for a 29-year-old male to have IC, but it's absolutely possible. And you have a right to know. And if they do rule it out, then you can perhaps go on to find out what is causing your problem.

      Are you following an IC diet? I think that would be a good idea for you in the meantime.

      Sending warm healing thoughts,
      Donna
