Visible blood in the urine can mean there is infection. I suggest you call your doctor and arrange for testing.

    Sending healing thoughts,

      HI,
I myself have had visible and microscopic blood in my urine for almost a year! In the beginning I had a kidney stone ! Had that removed and still had blood in urine ! I had several infections after that ! Cleared them up and was diagnosed with IC but still have blood in urine ! My doctors are ok with it but I would talk to your doctor to make sure!
To the world you might be one person but to one person you might be the world..

When I went to my uro a week ago for my DMSO I asked her if I still had the trace of blood in my urine. She told me that at least 50% of IC patients have a trace of blood in their urine. But visible blood you might want to be checked like Donna mentioned.

if you are seeing the blood in your urine i agree with donna that is a sign of an infection and that needs to be treated.
at least half of icers has blood in there urine all the time and doesnt know it i'm one of those people i can't see the blood but it shows up on my urine test and had no idea until i asked my doctor what was he talking about in other words please talk english to me not doctor talk. come down to my level LOL then i understood he was saying 99% of the time i give them a urine i have a small trace of blood in my urine it was nothing to worry about it normal for most people with ic. now if i have a stong trace of blood it is followed by an nasty uti. and needs to be treated.
i hope you are doing better now i'm sending you hugs and prayers Rhonda

                Blood in urine

I also have had blood in my urine for about 18 months--sometimes it looks like rose wine. As everyone else has suggested, make sure it is nothing else. My urine rarely clears.

                Hugs,

I had blood in the urine as one of my first physical symptoms that my GYN saw.. This finally took me to a Uro. who diagnosed me over 11 years ago.. Regardless of how I feel, or what drug I've taken..The blood has always remained in the urine and now, no one even questions the why. It's just the lining coming off, so I'm told. But then, I had IC years before I found out what it was all about. I have Hunners and perhaps this is why the bloody urine. For so long the GYN thought it was monthly periods until I was well past menopause for years did he finally decide to have me checked by a competent, by then I was too scarred to do much with. If I had known then what this was, I'd have checked sooner.
