Sometimes I wonder if "Docs" know that their office help is diagnosing a condition that even most Docs don't really know how to diagnose or treat effectively.

I've only got a minute to post, but I have to say...yeah, I really like the new Uro! He was great. He listened to me...gave me some ideas but said I'm doing all the right things. He renewed one of my perscriptions for me. He also offered DMSO or Elmiron when and if I feel I need it. He said he listens to his patients...if they think they need a rescue instill or want to try a new med, he'll do it. He won't wait for the symptoms to reach a certain level, etc. Really, I've been blessed today.

That really stinks when something like that happens with an office staff member. However, it's not necessarily a reflection of the uro in all cases... I know that my uro's office has a few rather clueless people who answer phones and take messages, but my uro himself is GREAT

Let's hope that is the situation you find yourself in tomorrow.

    Good luck!!!!

Isn't it frustrating when other folks in the uro's office are kinda clueless about IC? I remember calling in once when I thought I had a UTI, said at the start that I had IC, and the nurse told me to make sure to drink lots of cranberry juice. I thought, "Well, actually, I'd like to feel BETTER not worse, thankyouverymuch!"

Good luck with the new uro! Keep us posted!

Wish me luck...I'm seeing a new Uro tomorrow.

Well, this flare just seems to be hanging on...and on...and on. So, I called and made an appointment with a urologist. My last urologist (a wonderful woman) left this past summer, so this is a new uro for me. He's a male and truth be told, I"ve not had good luck with male uros. Wish me luck!!!

I'm afraid I may need it. When I was making the appointment I spoke to the nurse and explained that I had IC, explained my treatments and that I wanted to see the uro to talk about starting Elmiron. She asked me about my symptoms and replied...well that doesn't sound like IC. I had to explain that my symptoms are for the most part controlled through diet and meds...so it's not going to sound like IC, but if I didn't have meds and drank cranberry juice I wouldn't be able to leave the friggin toilet!

Ugh...I folks I'm an educated person, I've had this for nearly four years and I know my body. I just need someone who is going to listen to me, trust me, and be willing to work with me.

    Seriously, wish me luck!
