  • WOMAN'S DAY MAGAZINE has IC article!

Maybe because I'm newly diagnosed, but I've never seen an article in a magazine about IC! It is in the April edition of WOMAN'S DAY. It is a woman's story, but also talks about IC and how "rare" it is. I didn't think it was THAT RARE! Thank you.

Yeah, I saw the article too, and posted about it a few day ago. Though I hate that they said it was rare, I was thrilled to see an article about IC in a mainstream magazine. You know what they say, "Any publicity's good publicity!" So, I am glad we are getting some coverage!

To be honest with you I don't think it is all that rare. I think nobody could figure out what was happening to us and now doors are being open. And I thank God for Jill for opening this website and all the people who volunteer their time to help us through the hard times.

At the time I was diagnosed thirty two years ago it was considered rare. For that reason, testing was also rare and few cases were actually diagnosed. It's still not a widespread disease, but definitely isn't what I would refer to as "rare." There have been a few articles in some magazines, but not a lot.

While I agree that publicity about IC is great saying that it is a rare disease is not really helpful. Personally I didn't think the article was informative at all.

Ok I have a subscripton but still haven't received it in the mail! But I went out and bought it. I was a good article but there could of been more info on diet. I was a little upset that her diagnosis was so fast (Great for her) BUT not much on how long it can take for some to get the proper diagnosis.
