My smells like that if I don't drink enough of water. When I drink enough water the smell goes away. WATER WATER WATER, yuck, sometimes I hate that word but it works.
I recently read somewhere that when your body is severely acidic, it produces ammonia to alkalize itself. That is probably the reason for the smell and drinking lots of water would help I'm sure.

In my summer of misery ('06) I was totally stressed out to the max and after i would go for a run I would stink of ammonia from all over my body. It would eek from every pore. Urine, too.
After I got better (de-stressed) the odor went away.
Try drinking baking soda in a glass of water, maybe? It is disgusting but it helps restore your ph balance. In my experience, stinky urine is usually a sign of infection but the ammonia smell is usually from dehydration. Are any of your meds giving you dry eyes, dry mouth, etc.? That could possibly explain how you could be dehydrated even though you're drinking.
If you can tolerate it, a gentle, sensitive-skin type baby wipe after you go will eliminate any odor that might stay with you. But if it's just stinking up the toilet, it's probably not the worst thing that could happen to you. Light a scented candle in the bathroom, maybe.
Still, I hope it clears up. Sometimes those little annoyances can just make you crazy, I know!
Peace, Carolyn
