IC tummy?

    IC tummy?

    Does anyone else have the IC tummy - looks distended/bloated and is sensitive/painful to touch (lower abdomen/bladder area)? I also have IBS so I know that's a factor too...but I"m just wondering. I am SO SKINNY but my stomach is always distended and painful.

    Tracy ~ 29 years old with Toxoplasmosis (from birth), Fibro/CFS (since age 13...ouch), severe IC, IBS-D, severe PFD (surgery made it even worse), vulvodynia, hiatal hernia, GERD, ulcers, severe gastritis, numbness/tingling in extremeties, pelvic nerve damage--mainly urethral, urinary retention, pelvic reconstruction 7.10.07 (fixed rectocele, rectal prolapse, lifted bladder, urethra, uterus, and repaired vaginal walls), Raynaud's, 2 severely herniated discs in neck and one in low back, anemia, PCOS, anxiety/depression/panic attacks (since forever). Still having major bowel problems (inability to empty rectum...any ideas?? ).

    I'd like to be on House, MD as a medical mystery.

    Married to Craig, a saint amongst men...who puts up with me and my eccentricities...

    I take: LIQUID Atarax, Flomax, Soma (yet again), acidophilus, Glucosamine/Chondroitin with MSM & collagen, d-mannose. MAJOR flare from Cystoprotek! Re-trying freeze dried aloe vera w/some decent results!

    Tried and failed: Elavil, Ultram, Prosed DS, Benadryl, Bentyl, Valium, Ativan, Zanaflex, Librax, Sanctura (all caused retention among other things), bladder instills (owwwwww!), Elmiron (allergic-throat tightening). Failed Interstim-no feeling in sacral nerves...

    I'm allergic to penicillan, sulfa, reglan, quinolones, clindamycin, and now LATEX!

      yep this is part of IC yuck... one day I could wear a 10 and the next a 12/14.

          i weigh about 95 lbs and am 5'1". i've lost weight recently (again!) but my tummy stays the same...*sigh*.

              i'm small too... 5'6" and weigh 125lb. I always have the bladder sticking out. It's annoying and looks bad. sucks to have it when I'm only 20!!!! Good thing I have a bf that loves me. haha jk

                  hey,

                  Mine isn't doing it so much at present, but I remember that the tummy distention was the very FIRST symptom that I got. It looked really bad about a week before my first flare. I recall joking with my bf (now hubby) that I looked pregnant.... My stomach still does it around the time of my flares.

                      IC tummy

                      I am new and planned on introducing myself onthe board, but i had to post to this. my friend is on here and has been bugging me about getting on. I have had fibro since i was 12years old but only dia7years. boy do I get the tummy tho. i also have IBS. and i thought it was that. but my friend kept telling me it was ic. it drives me crazy the tummy not my friend lol

                      well i donot know how it works here i was on a fibro support group and we just kinda introduced ourself when we were new so i don't know my way around here.

                          I did have IC belly for the year I was trying to get dx and for a little while after. Since I was dx with IC and got my treatment and meds worked out, I rarely get it anymore, but skin is still hypersenstive in the pelvic area and my butt.
