This is driving me crazy! I am on continous bcp so that I won't my period because it makes me flare so much but I've been having some breakthrough bleeding. With the breakthrough bleeding comes more pain. Apparently it has also caused more freq/urgency. I was going every 10 minutes earlier this morning. I'm not even drinking that much water for what I usually drink. It's 12:05 pm and I'm only about half way through my second 24 oz bottle of water. That is nothing for me, usually I'd be on to my third. Last night I got up at least 4 times. So now I am tired, lots of pelvic/bladder pain, lower back is killing me and I am literally going to the bathroom somewhere between 10-20 minutes between each time. I want to scream. I go to the uro on Friday, YEA :woohoo: and hopefully he will be scheduling my hydro since I haven't had one yet but I am sooooo worried that it's going to take like 2 weeks to get it scheduled and he's not going to want to do anything for me in the meantime. I better go, should not be posting while at work and not on my break!

Losing my mind!
Christine
I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.
I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)
Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus

You might need a differnt kind of BCP. I had the same problem on the orthro tri something one with less hormones or whatever was in it. I went on the yasmin and had no problems with it and only had my period every 3 months and then it only lasted one day.

Ask for a b/c with the same hormone levels everyday.... (not the ones that vary week to week)....
