I know I can't swim in pools...the chlorine is bad for my VV. I can swim in saltwater without any problems, (luckily I live near the beach because I LOVE to swim) but not pools. Hopefully the chemicals won't bother your symptoms
We use Baquacil in our pool and it doesn't bother me. I don't do well in clorine.

Anyone who says something is foolproof hasn't met a determined fool
A friend of mine just put in a pool with a "chlorine salt generator". He said "As far as chemicals it uses regular chlorine tablets in the winter as the salt system won't function when the temperature is below 65 degrees and acid just like other pools. The salt is supposed to be much better to swim in as it has about the same salt content of tears and about one tenth the level of the ocean." You may want to research this further as I know nothing about it. But it sounds like a more natural way to swim and better for the body. Good Luck!

I have a pool we didn't put up last year, right after I got ot a couple years ago, I took a shower when I got out. I have a 25 x 30 one now and want to put it up.

Trust me, I'm an expert on this issue! I coach a springboard diving team in the summers, and I have to go in the water (plus, I love it!). It'll be great if you can get a low chemical system, but even in hard water I have a solution that works for me: Smear petroleum jelly (vaseline) all over your crotch before you go in. The water can't penetrate, so it's almost like a "vagina goggle." LOL Really, this does work.
Peace, Carolyn

Ronda,
I have a pool and go swimming all the time, plus I go to water aerobics classes. Sometimes I think it may bother me but mostly I'm ok with it and I don't even care if it does, because I'm not giving that up too!! I love to swim and love the classes, but I may just try the Vaseline thing, never heard of that before, but sounds like a good idea!

I can't do chlorine as I flare badly. We have a pool and did the frog system. It is supposed to be natural but it also bothered me. We switched to Bacqucil and I don't have any problems. Never tried a salt water pool so I don't have any advice there. Best of luck. -Vicki

There's a generic for Baquacil now. The one we get is called Revacil I think. I found an out-of-the-way small pool supply place where it's about half the cost of the name brand.

Anyone who says something is foolproof hasn't met a determined fool
I tried swimming in a pool while on vacation. It didn't work for me for a few reasons:
1. I can't take pressure on my abdoman, so the swim bottoms bothered me (I think it would have been better if I went comando--but I obviously couldn't).
2. The feeling of water being on the "down there" region made me feel like I kinda had to pee.
3. Oddly, the chlorine gave me only mild irritation (kinda frictional feeling).
Medical "Issues":
IC
GERD
Tachycardia(resting rate is 125-130 ) Medicastions:
Tramadol-as needed (IC)-50mg
Elmiron 200mg twice a day
Levsin .125mg 1-2 pills 4 times a day
