I read where a lot of people have to have this shot. My b12 level is 185 the lowest my doctor has seen. I have been feeling horrible.. like I have the flu. I am tired, weak, rapid irregular heart beat. Anyway I got the shot a week ago and I don't feel any better. I am scheduled for another one next week. My question is when should I start feeling better?

I regularly have low b12. My doc has me come in 3 times a week for 4 weeks in order to get it back up to normal. I just got done with a round. I usually start feeling better after the first week. I'm so sorry you're feeling that horrible pain. It always kinda sneaks up on me and then suddenly I feel just like you described. No energy and weak. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I take B12 shots I have tried it a few different ways, I have gotten it once a week for a month the once every other week for a month the every 3 weeks then once a month, this worked for a while.

Now I get 1 shot per week and do pretty good on that, if I get really sick my dr. will give a double dose, then go back to once a week. If I am sick for a while like last summer 3 mons kidney infection he ups it to 2x's per week.

Everyone I havetalked to about this seems to be a different schedual. My son gets one 1x per week, he has a digestive disorder. A friend who had gastric by pass gets one every 3 weeks. So I think it depends on the Dr.

At first we went to the dr's office everytime we needed the shot, this become time consumming, the nurse gives it, so sometime you have to wait for them to find the timeto do it, for me sometimes I am not up to make the drive in for the shot so my son and I were taught how do give ourselves the shots. It's easy once you learn how, and now it takes a max of five mins.

It has a goodsent for both of us our energy has increased quite a bit from it.

My are with you all. May you all find a way to peace and joy in your lives.
