  • Urethral pain before BM?

    I've been wondering about this...and if any of you experience it too?

    Every morning when I get up I get these little stabbing pains in my urethra. Once I have a BM I feel all better. If I ever get constipated which I work really hard at not letting happen I get terrible frequency. As far as I know the colon is not next to the urethra! So it always kind of baffles me unless its just pressure in general.
    Cindi

    Gelnique for frequency/urgency - works great
    Macrobid after sex
    Prilosec, continuous birth control pills
    synthroid .088mg, mucinex-d, restasis

    Supplements: Desert Harvest Aloe vera, Cysta-q, prelief, magnesium and calcium, Vit D, flaxseed oil

    Diag Mild IC Jan 11 but have had symptoms for 25 years. Also have GERD, TMJ, IBS-C, chronic dry eye syndrome, hashimotos thyroiditis, non-allergic rhinitis.

    I notice some pain associated with my BM as well, but i dont get the stabbing pain around the urethra, i however, got this referred clitoris soreness if i need to push a little bit harder than normal to finish my BM. I know colon is not around the urethra, but it's close enough (since they are all in the pelvic region), i read somewhere that there are lots of muscles down there in general, so when one muscle is getting stimulated/strained, it's easy to other muscles to get pulled or affected as well. I wouldnt be surprised something might feel off down there since the nerves in that general area are already irritated to begin with.

      Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
      where there is hatred, let me sow love;
      when there is injury, pardon;
      where there is doubt, faith;
      where there is despair, hope;
      where there is darkness, light;
      and where there is sadness, joy.
      Grant that I may not so much seek
      to be consoled as to console;
      to be understood, as to understand,
      to be loved as to love;
      for it is in giving that we receive,
      it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
      and it is in dying [to ourselves] that we are born to eternal life.
