I described it to my first uro as feeling like severe menstrual cramps but then thought- How would he know what menstrual cramps feel like? When I got a female urogyno she knew exactly what I was describing. Like Donna, I also feel like I want to push my bladder out.

I have described my IC pain as being like a severe, slightly misplaced menstrual cramp. It also can feel like my body is trying to push my bladder out.

It is so hard to describe the feelings and where they are generating from. I was convinced my urethra was hurting, my uro did an internal exam and touched something and when he did I almost came off the table. He said "that is your bladder". Have they done an internal exam on you? Maybe that would help you define the where. The what kind of pain, or pressure is hard to describe. I suggest keeping a diary of when and what you feel, how it feels at different times. Is it sharp, burning, pulsing, pushing, pressure, knifelike? Those types of descriptions might help.
Good luck to you,
Sandra

I don't know how to categorize what I feel. It almost feels like a menstrual cramp but not in my uterus. I can't tell where the achy, sore burny feeling really is. It is very frustrating to describe.I can't tell if it is in my bladder or actually vagina. I have had no pain during intercourse but teh feeling seems lower thanbladder. I wouldn't even characterize it as pain but it is certainly uncomfortable. Plus I always fell like my bladder is not empty and I need to go. Does anyone have anything like this? Not sure what I am even asking!!Tags: None
