It is nothing like the IC for me. My IC personally feels totally in my bladder. If my IBS gets bad though, like constipation bad then my urethra will hurt I think from the pressure. If I'm having an IBS flare, my IC will get worse too with frequency. I think the IBS effects the IC but maybe not vice versa. These are just my experiences.
I manage the C part on a daily basis with lots of magnesium and if thats not enough then stool softeners, though not too often. Fiber supplements really bother my IBS. I find as long as I stay on top of it then it doesn't effect my IC much. Though like tonight, I had an upset stomach and could found it was hard to pee, just too much going on down there!
Lots of people with IC have IBS too. I think they're related and mine started about the same time in my life. Something to do with hypersensitivity, I fit right in there.
