Blood in urine

I tested my urine for an infection and it shows up with blood in it!
The yellow square turned green, light green but this is the most blood I have had ever. I have not had a bad flair like this for 3 years or more.

I have lots of burning but no leukasites on the test.
I had a Checkers milk shake yesterday and after that the burning started.

Can a bad flair cause lots of blood in the urine? I cant see any.. The urine is clear.

for me personally I've always had blood in my urine, +5 at one time but that was before I knew I had IC, and now I've always got a trace of blood. Since I'm not a doctor and this is my experience you most likely need to call your doctor and make sure there's no infection. Hope your feeling better soon.

Since you do show blood, I think it's important that you be checked by your doctor. The home test strips aren't 100%.

I am hoping the blood will be gone by monday....


This pain got really bad after I drank some home made chicken broth today.

I just now remembered that I had put maybe 2 tblspoons of vinigar in the large pot of broth.. to draw the calcuim out of the chicken bones. ( I made it 4 months ago and it was frozen. )

I have drunk this broth several times in the past and I was fine, but my bladder must have been already irritated from the Checker's milk shake yesterday, then even this tiny bit of vinigar irritated my bladder a lot.

Does that make sense?
Could it be that?

Now I am drinking chamamole tea to flush it out.

If it was me I would be drinking Evian water with a few pinches of baking soda.
Calms down my irritated bladder area pretty quick. Just a few big swallows every half hour or so. You don't want to completely overwhelm an inflamed bladder.

You are avoiding all the big "no no's" - tea, coffee, alcohol of all sorts, chocolate, etc., right?

I don't have any strips that show blood but I usually have it either from the IC (moderate level) or genitourinary atrophy.

I used to get small flecks of blood on the TP when I wiped when my IC was getting bad and once I urinated blood after vigorous exercise.

Flair going away!!

The blood is now all gone and so is 80% of the flair.
Still have a tad of stinging... but nothing like before.
Yes, on the ic diet.

I am going to post another question about the possible cause of this flair up.

Just wondering, when you guys reference blood in your urine, are you talking visible blood in the toilet? For the past year I have given afew urine samples and it always comes up with trace blood. They apparently sent it to be looked at under a microscope and they said that there are "acceptable" amts of blood and they didn't seem worried. Just wondering when I see blood in urine mentioned if everyone is referring to visible blood like red or pink in the toilet.

I don't see the blood, it's only picked up under microscope.

There is always blood in my urine. My urologist says that it isn't normally associated with IC, which is why he held out on diagnosing me until after hydrodistention.
