  • Cystocele anyone?

Have any of you suffered a cystocele (prolapsed bladder)? Mine is protruding from my vagina, and making all of my IC symptoms MUCH worse. I have an appointment with my uro this Friday to discuss my treatment options. I am having a really hard time emptying my bladder, which of course just makes this condition worse. Anyone had a repair done? Advice from anyone of you would be great!

I am sorry to hear about your current difficulties. I hope things get better for you.

On a lighter note, your forum title made me think, "no thanks, I'd rather not."

Is this a common progression of IC?

I had mine repaired some years ago and have never regretted the surgery. I have a sling. The surgery was done vaginally and the recovery period wasn't bad. I did have to avoid strenuous activity and lifting for several months.

At what point is surgical treatment considered? I know they grade prolapses from 1-3. How bad was yours before you had surgery?

I was having trouble urinating and the cystocele was visible.
