Does drinking water during your trip increase frequency, or pain? I was wondering if youre doing your bladder a disservice by omitting water during your commute as sometime with an IC bladder when it gets empty it can cause increased sensitivity. Perhaps taking small sips of water during your commute might help. Just a suggestion.
Wishing you well.
Thanks to you and everyone for answering. Many blessings.

I 2nd the suggestion about showing the IC restroom card if the urge arises. While I dont know where the boundaries lie between Homeland Security and disabilities, however, it wont hurt to bring your issue to the attention of a higher up in the BART system (a supervisor).
I'd still try using the IC restroom card and asking the attendant to open it. I've only needed to do that once (I don't use BART often), but the attendant did open the restroom for me.
A little more info about Bay Area Rapid Transit. My partner says that some restrooms are open depending on if they are on the ground floor or not. I don't have energy to research all but I do know I am restricted with plenty of them. They even flash signs saying sorry the restrooms are closed. I don't know if anything can be done. Please think good thoughts for me as I go to the dentist.
PS If I talk to news reporters it will make things worse and the two stations that have restrooms open, one being the one I get onto the BART with. I think they will close those two as well. They say it has to do with Homeland Security.
If you ask the station attendant and show your IC restroom access card, will they open the restroom for you? If not, I think "Seven on Your Side" news reporter might be able to help. This is an Americans With Disabilities Act situation. Without restroom access at the BART stations, it is making public transit inaccessible for us.
No, nothing works even showing my Medic Alert card. They say it is something to do with keeping terrorists out of the restrooms. And when it comes to that nothing will change it. There are two stations that keep them open but none other will do so. I need to go to the dentist 3 times more. Not looking forward to it. It's 2 stations away but I really need more water and can't drink it until I come home. Please think good thoughts for me. You are kind and compassionate.

because of the above I have to adjust my water drinking. I sometimes neeed to go to a nearby city but can't drink the usual amount of water I need. This way I can make it there. I sit down at the dentist and she needs to go somewhere and I have to wait. She always asks me to sit down and I always say it hurts but she doesn't get it, even after I explained IC. Anyway bad enough to go to the dentist without hurting and this is the best dentist on my plan. Yesterday I took only one stop on the way home and it hurt to sit and stand,. As soon as I get home I drink more water and even get up early to drink the water I do. Anyone else with this problem? Guess what? They had a fire drill at the dentist making my stay even longer but I do go to the batheroon there. Also hurting sometimes after I lie down.
