  • Night frequency

Since all of this began in March 2011, I've noticed that if I can fall asleep, then I only get up a maximum of 2x a night. However, if for some reason I can't fall asleep, then I often have a frequency flare for several hours.

Fortunately, to date, this has only happened to me a couple of times a month. I'm going back to my doctor next month--should I ask for atarax? Elavil? I'm confused about which one might be best for this issue.

I have suffered from terrible seasonal allergies since moving to the midwest four years ago. I feel like there is a connection there, so I'm leaning toward the atarax.

I just go the atarax about 2 weeks ago, and it helps me sleep for sure! I take 25 mg at bedtime. I only get up to pee about once a night now, when im not flaring. I also have really bad seasonal allergies too so it helps!

I tried to take elavil when I was first having problems and it gave me bad retention. o everyone is different, some people say it makes a differnce too

    Good luck

    28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

Thanks, Jinny. It looks like we have similar symptoms. I think I should give Atarax a try. Lovely graduation gown!
