I had similar symptoms when I was flaring and my bladder and pelvic floor muscles were going in to spasms. I felt like I needed to push something out of me (subconsciously trying to get my bladder out of me I think!) At the time a heating pad, Ativan, and chamomile tea helped to calm things down but didn't completely go away until I got the bladder irritation under control.

Unfortunatley, I am a chronic pain patient that requires atleast 1800 mg ibuprofen daily..ontop of heavy duty Dilaudid and others. I have no choice I have severe spine issues along with neck..the ic is just the icing on the cake.

Yes, I've had a similar feeling, although mine isn't as bad as you're describing. For me, it was an intense pressure, like something was falling out. It felt like my vaginal area was also swollen. I notice it more at night when I'm laying down, but I have a slight case of it now sitting at my desk. Very strange feeling.

Please don't strain --- it will only make it worse. Be sure to tell your new urologist how difficult it is to urinate. There are medications that will help relax those muscles to make it easier for you. In the meantime, I suggest you be sure you are drinking enough water (six to eight cups every day). You might try sitting in warm water to help you urinate without straining --- it's okay to urinate in the water if that's easier for you.

I also noted you are taking ibuprofen, which is a problem for many ICers.

    Sending warm hugs,
    Donna

    IT was like I was...crowning!

    Hello ladies, *hugs*
So for the last little while I have been better, not "better" but tolerating better and the pain HAD lessened and I now know that me and bananas are brutual enemies!
This past Friday though it started..all that terrible pressure and using the bathroom 32 times again..dribble dribble..can't push it out and then something awful happened. I literally felt like I was crowning! My vaginal lips felt like they were terribly bruised and well crowning. I got relief by pressing lightly on the area (sorry if tmi) but I did have clothing on And the use of my perineum squirt bottle. That bottle is a godsend. In Canada they send you home with one every time you have a baby. I'm so happy I had the right mind to save mine. I used it ALL the time after my surgery, the "not so smart drs that ruined me" didn't even think to send something so nice home to someone with a new consrtucted vagina and anal region..how nice of him. But anyways, I just wondered, has anyone else experienced the crowning feeling? I was so scared I was prolapsing again.
Btw, I went to a clinic to check to see IF I had a uti..nope. I see my new Urologist next week..I'm hoping for instillations.
    Thanks in advance!!!
