  • Help for bladder itching and retention

    Hi everyone,

The skin on top of my bladder and also what seems inside my bladder is itching. Should I be on an antihistamine, if so which one?

I have started cystopotek a few days ago, this could not be a side effect could it?

The retention started prior to the cystoportek my belly/bladder is so swolen and sore to touch. I am peeing about 200ml. I was doing ok holding 350mls but I now have constant pressure so it makes it much harder.

When saw my uro a few weeks ago she tested and I only had 14mls left there. The time before that it was 100mls, but at that time I did not have the constant pressure either.

This pressure has been worse since coming off the pill. I don't know if it my bladder but it sure feels like it. Don't want to go back on the pill beecause my Vulvodynia is better and I don't have pain with sex anymore

Advice please, I feel like I have a huge waterbaloon in my bladder, that has ants in it!

    Thanks,

    Claire

You could try OTC Benadryl and see if that helps with the itching. I know some people on here say they use the Dye-free Benadryl, but I personally do fine with the cheapo off brand (the same stuff we give our dog for his allergies, haha).

I have a prescription for generic Atarax and I like that a lot better. It's also inexpensive with my insurance.
    Medications and Supplements:
    BladderQ
    Pyridium
    D-Mannose powder
    Cranmax

    Lifestyle:
    Lacto-ovo-vegetarian and IC diet
    Meditation
    Positive mental attitude!
