Possible UTI Pain

I was diagnosed with IC for about 6 years. I had a hydro/cysto done and he said I had some pin point bleeding. My main symptoms were that I felt like I had been kicked in the pubic bone.. and frequency. My bladder just over all felt burny. I have been able to pretty well manage my IC with the diet. I only drink water and I watch what I eat. Well last Tuesday my bladder wasnt feeling right.. I went to pee and OMG the burning at the end of it doubled me over. And after that my bladder hurt so bad that it was making me feel sick. I went to my regular MD who did an urinalysis.. He said I had blood and some wbc and a little infection and he put me on Cipro for 10 days and pyridium. Well I took it for 5 days and missed a day then the next day I had the same exact thing happen to me again.. Doubled over and severe burning at the end of urnination. So I went back to the doc.. He said I had blood (which I told him I was on my period) wbc and some infection. So he wanted to send my urnine off to culture. This time he gave me a recephin shot and 10 days of macrodantin and pyridium. I am terrified that this is my IC and not an infection. Even tho I only have burning at the end of urination with a UTI. But he said I didnt have a whole lot of bacteria. I am so scared that this is how I am going to have to live. Please does anybody know if a mild UTI can cause this pain? I am still taking the macrodantin and pyridium. But my bladder doesnt feel well.. and I dont feel well at all. I had to miss 2 days of work. I am scared that my IC has progressed.
